This look brings awareness to deforestation when CO2 and greenhouse gases omit into the air when trees are cut down. It was inspired by Wangari Maathai who is a powerful woman who started the Green Belt Movement in Kenya which planted millions of trees. My muse was also Suri Gomez (IG @dazingsoul) who advocates for sustainability. This was made out of scrap materials from FABSCRAP in Brooklyn, a recycled bed sheet, and black tea for natural dyes. I also used the muslin mock up I created of the pattern as the lining of the piece to not let it go to waste.
